SALT LAKE CITY — Murray High's Dillon Curtis has turned heads this season with his record-breaking leg, making him one of the most dominant kickers in Utah high school football history.

Standing at 6-foot-2, the senior kicker and punter is leaving his mark on Utah high school football, one powerful kick at a time.

Curtis achieved something spectacular on Friday night in a game against Tooele High where he broke the state record for the longest-made field goal with an astounding 63-yard boot, beating out a record most recently set in 2015 of 62 yards.

But this wasn't the first time Curtis found his name etched in the record books.

Just two weeks prior, Curtis broke the state record for the most field goals made in a single game, knocking down six field goals in an unforgettable performance against Payson. With 19 made field goals this season, Curtis is on the verge of surpassing the Utah state record of 20.

There's even chatter about him closing in on the national record, an achievement that seems well within his reach given his current trajectory.

Curtis is a special talent — one who seems destined for greatness. As one of the top kickers in the country, he has already earned Division I offers from Utah State and Weber State, with more likely on the way.

His standout season has also earned him an invite to the Adidas All-American Game, which will take place in Texas in January.

His performance last week wasn't just about breaking records, though.

In addition to the state-record 63-yard field goal, Curtis nailed a 49-yarder and a 41-yarder. To top it off, his kickoffs consistently ranged between 80 to 85 yards, proving his leg is a game-changing weapon.

His discipline and work ethic have helped guide Murray High to a 5-3 record this season, with Curtis playing a big role in their success.

As the Spartans prepare to face Stansbury in their second-to-last region game on Thursday, all eyes will be on Curtis, who continues to prove why he's one of the best in the nation.
