THE FAMILY ROOM — We've had a puppy staying at our house for the past week or so. She's a joyful bundle of energy, bouncing off walls and licking every face in sight. While I'm not always the biggest fan of pets, I have to admit she brings a lot of happiness to the house (along with a healthy dose of chaos).

Why do I bring up this rollicking puppy? Because I couldn't help but contrast her with the uniformity and control seen in this kitten video.

Kittens can be wild. When I was a kid, we had a kitten that would hide under our beds and then claw our feet every night before we got into bed. It was always a painful and terrifying experience.

But in the right circumstances, kittens can exhibit an impressive amount of focus. Like in this video. These three cats are so in sync that they almost look animatronic.

Of course, once the video was over, the kitten probably scrambled across the room and began clawing everything that moved. It doesn't matter if you've got a kitten or a puppy, they're all a little reckless.
