LEHI — Skyridge had three red zone turnovers Friday against No. 19 nationally-ranked Corner Canyon.

The Chargers turned around and scored 21 points off the takeaways to mark the difference in a 38-28 loss at home for the Falcons.

The defeat marks the second of the season for Skyridge to bookend its five-game non-region slate after a season-opening loss at Timpview. Corner Canyon moves to 4-1 after dropping its last trip to Utah County in shocking fashion to Lone Peak.

"We talk about Lone Peak almost every week, every day," Corner Canyon quarterback Helaman Casuga said. "We lost and we got upset and can be sad about it, but we use that as motivation because that should have never happened. But Lone Peak was a great team, and we, obviously, didn't play our best game. So we use that as motivation."

Casuga was clinical on Friday with the exception of a one-handed interception by Skyridge's Tavian Edwards that could crack SportsCenter's Top 10 plays.

The junior threw three touchdowns to senior slot receiver Chryshaun Lee and ran in another to outplay Skyridge's junior signal caller Kaneal Sweetwyne, who had his fair share of troubles on the night.

The Falcons quarterback threw three interceptions against the Chargers, including two in the red zone, to stymie any shot at keeping up with the high-powered Chargers offense.

The first came in the second quarter after the one-handed grab by Edwards and the second with 6:42 remaining in the game after 14 unanswered points by the Falcons to bring them within 3.

"I think that's why we won the game, (because) we had five turnovers," Corner Canyon defensive back Brock White said. "Overall, I think that was really just the game changer. The offense got the ball back and that's all we work for."

The Chargers stay on the road to take on Mountain Ridge next week as region play begins, while Skyridge welcomes Westlake to Lehi.
