SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 5 high school football games across the state.
KSL.com Sports' Game of the Week: Corner Canyon at Skyridge
Why did we choose this game?
This matchup has proved to be one of the best over the years, and we expect nothing different this year.
Corner Canyon looked like an unbeatable team in state after its upset win over nationally-ranked IMG Academy in Week 2. But it fell victim to Lone Peak the week after, shaking up the makeup of Utah high school sports.
The Chargers remain one of the best teams in the state, but will face a familiar foe in Skyridge in hostile territory. The Falcons haven't been as dominant as in years past, but they're no doubt ready for the battle on their turf.
Corner Canyon averages 42 points per game, whereas Skyridge averages 33 points per game; but Skyridge has the leg up on defense, where they only allow 20.8 points per game. Corner Canyon has given up nearly four touchdowns, 27.8 points, per game this season.
Other games we'll be watching this week:
- A deteriorating Alta falls in 3rd straight game in 36-31 loss to West
