BALLARD, Uintah County — A fight in Ballard, just east of Roosevelt, left a man "unresponsive with multiple stab wounds" Saturday night, and a suspect is being held in jail for investigation of murder after the man died the next day.
Deputies say they found 44-year-old Owen Shuck, of Ballard, in a residence after being dispatched to "a possible fight in progress." Life-saving measures were attempted on Shuck as he was transported to a hospital in Roosevelt and then flown to the Wasatch Front for care, according to a news release from the Uintah County Sheriff's Office, but Shuck died on Sunday.
Early Sunday, investigators took Brandin Reynolds, 42, of Roosevelt, into custody and held him in Uintah County Jail on a parole violation, with murder charges "expected to be filed this week," the sheriff's office says.
Investigators are processing evidence, and say they are still looking for a "clear motive in the killing."
No other information was released about the circumstances surrounding the alleged fight or how investigators identified Reynolds as a suspect.
