CLEARFIELD — A 10-year-old Layton boy was hit and killed by a truck in Clearfield on Saturday while riding a bicycle.

Although police are not identifying the boy, a GoFundMe* page says Dom Boudrero was hit by a truck on Saturday near 1900 S. Chelemes Way in Clearfield and died a few hours later at a local hospital.

"Dom was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved any and all sports, Fishing, camping and anything active. He was a light in our lives," states the GoFundMe, which is raising money for funeral expenses. "This is going to be a long road for the family as they grieve the loss of Dom. We can't believe he's really gone from this mortality and can't wait to see his loving spirit again."

The pickup truck was at a four-way stop in a residential neighborhood, "and it appears the vehicle had just begun moving into the intersection as the bicyclist attempted to cross the intersection" and was hit, according to Clearfield police. The boy was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police. As of Monday, no charges or citations had been filed against the driver.

"The department sends its sincerest condolences to the family members, friends, those who witnessed the accident, and all those affected by this tragic accident," police said.
