THAILAND — There are times when we spend way too much time looking for a parking spot. For example, let's say you head to your local mall for some back-to-school shopping. A light rain is falling as you enter the parking lot, so even though there are lots of available spots in the back half of the lot, you drive up and down the rows for 10 minutes trying to find a spot closer to the doors.
This desire to avoid a walk in the rain is understandable, but it wastes a lot of time and gas. In the end, we often just give up and park in a further spot anyway.
For these reasons, I usually park in the back. Not only do I avoid the problems mentioned above, but there's less of a chance of my car getting dinged by someone's door and I get some extra steps in for the day.
I'm not sure if the driver in this video had a similar thought process, but moving the car worked out really well for them.
This nearly disastrous incident occurred in Thailand — and the stakes were higher than I originally realized.
That family could've been crushed.
