BRAZIL — Let's talk about capybaras.

They're the world's largest rodents, standing about 2 feet tall at the shoulder. They look a bit like oversized guinea pigs and live near water, where they can dine on aquatic plants to their little hearts' content. They love to swim and can stay underwater as long as five minutes to evade predators. And because its eyes, nostrils and ears are all near the top of their head, a capybara can safely peek out of the water like a hippo to survey the situation.

Another fact I learned after watching this video is capybaras apparently like to go on nighttime parades.

Okay, so all that talk about capybaras feasting on aquatic plants and being stealthy in the water seems kind of silly now. Here's a group of the critters just tromping down the street like they don't have a care in the world. No water in sight. No aquatic plants to munch on. No problem, apparently.

But there's probably a simple explanation for the parade. Perhaps this group of capybaras is scouting for a new water hole. Or they might have eaten too many aquatic plants and are just going on a little stroll to ease their bellies. Maybe they are holding some kind of annual celebratory parade.

Whatever the reason, it's definitely fun to see this line of capybaras marching along. And I hope they found whatever they were looking for.
