SALT LAKE CITY — Garett Bolles is in the final year of his $68 million contract extension and his future with the Denver Broncos is uncertain.

"Definitely puts a chip on my shoulder, for sure," Bolles said.

The story of the former Utah offensive lineman is remarkable. He was kicked out of his home at 18 years old and taken in by the Greg and Emily Freeman family.

"I kinda told Emily that I bet he makes it for three days, and Emily kind of giggled and said, 'Oh, I bet it's three weeks," Greg Freeman said.

Nearly 14 years later, Bolles is paying it forward, mentoring troubled youth in Colorado, while also becoming one of the top left tackles in the NFL. His story is a message of hope and second chances.
