SALT LAKE CITY — Dozens of wildfires have been sparked in the past four days, but Utah fire officials say they're nearly all contained.

In a tweet Thursday night, officials said there "have been 40 wildfires reported to Utah's interagency wildfire dispatch centers (13 today)" and, thanks to the hard work of various firefighting agencies, "nearly all of them have been fully suppressed."

A couple of those fires — a 50-100 acre blaze near Saratoga Springs a 75-acre fire near Lincoln Beach at Utah Lake — started and were knocked down Thursday, fire officials said.

Also Thursday, a U.S. Forest Service spokesperson said officials believe target shooting is to blame for a fire that sparked near Thistle Junction Wednesday afternoon.

Updates to those and other wildfires can be found in the blog below.
