LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A school district in northern Utah has approved a deal to swap an acre of its land for an acre owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Herald Journal reports that Cache County School District Board of Education approved the swap Thursday. It will exchange an acre of district land at a location in North Logan for an acre owned by the LDS Church adjacent to Bridgerland Applied Technology College.
The Cache High School building is too small, so the district plans to begin construction on a new school in spring 2016.
Cache Landmark engineering department manager Lance Anderson says the new school might be built on the land next to BATC.
The church hasn't confirmed its plans for the North Logan property.
