SALT LAKE CITY — A section of North Temple was closed after a main waterline break caused flooding Wednesday night.

North Temple from Redwood Road to around Orange Street was closed, as water pooled on the road, according to the Salt Lake Fire Department.

Salt Lake City Public Utilities was able to stop the flow of water, the fire department said.

"Our crews were able to hold back the flooding water with charged hose-lines to prevent businesses from flooding," the Salt Lake City Fire Department said on X.

The fire department said there appears to be "at least one" break in a main waterline. Several agencies, including the fire department and public utilities, responded to the scene.

The road will remain closed until crews can remove the water, the fire department said.
