LAYTON — One person is dead and three others were injured after a crash in the area of 2000 E. Oak Hills Lane on Friday.

About 3:47 p.m., officers responded to the scene where two vehicles had collided. Occupants in both vehicles were seriously injured and medical respondents began administering care, Layton police said.

Three people were hospitalized, but despite lifesaving measures, one person died at the scene, police said.

Police did not provide any more details about the crash or identifying information about person who died.

People commuting in the area can expect some impacts as Oak Hills Lane between 1800 East and 2250 East will be closed "for several hours" as crews investigate.

Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
