PROVO — The iconic "I Voted" stickers that have been a tradition in America will soon see a new design in Utah County, one created by a middle school student.

Utah County is asking students in grades 5 through 9 to get civically engaged by taking a stab at designing the November 2026 general election stickers. The contest is part of Utah County's America 250 celebration in partnership with the Utah County Elections Division.

"This is your chance to create a design that represents both America's 250th birthday and the spirit of Utah County. Whether you use traditional art supplies or digital tools, we encourage you to make something original, meaningful and eye-catching," the county said.

Artwork in mediums of any kind — drawing, painting, digital art — will be accepted, but each student is only allowed one entry. The deadline for submissions is May 8, and a winner will be selected on May 15.

"This contest is a unique opportunity for students to take part in our America 250 celebration while contributing to a meaningful civic tradition," County Commissioner Skyler Beltran said.

The first-place winner will have their artwork printed on all stickers in the county and receive a $150 prize. The student who gets second place will receive $100, and third place will get $50. All three winners will be recognized at a Utah County Commission meeting.

"It's also a fun project to engage our students in celebrating America and tapping into their patriotic spirit. By designing the 'I Voted' sticker, these young artists can inspire community pride and help celebrate the importance of participating in our elections," Beltran said.

More information on the contest can be found on the online submission form.

"We can't wait to see your creativity and celebrate this historic milestone together!" the county said.
