HEBER CITY — Two people are dead following a crash involving two vehicles east of Strawberry Reservoir on Saturday.

A box truck was eastbound on state Route 40 when it "failed to maintain their lane and left the roadway to the right" abot 2:30 p.m., said Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva.

The driver of the box truck then "overcorrected and crossed the center line divider" and collided with a westbound pickup truck, Silva said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 39-year-old man, and his passenger, a 34-year-old man, both died. The driver of the box truck was transported to a local hospital and was stable, according to Silva.

The fatal crash is under investigation.

Traffic is open in the area by use of alternating the traffic in the eastbound lane.
