SALT LAKE CITY — It's March 10, and for anyone who likes to punch gold coins in the air, avoid bumping into angry mushrooms and roaming turtles and like jumping down sewer pipes, it's Mario day.

Get it? Mar. 10: Mario.

If it took you a while to get the pun, you may be among the minority because, according to recent data, Utah ranks as the "most Mario-obsessed" state.

The data was collected by a social gaming company called Ace.com, which analyzed Google search data from 2022 to 2025 to identify each state's favorite character from the Mario franchise. The results found that there are 35,020 searches per month from Utah, which amounts to 97 searches per 10,000 residents.

Utah is also 16% more likely to search for Mario characters than the national average, ranking the state higher than California and Nevada, which had 94 and 89 searches per 10,000 residents, respectively.

While Utah did take the top spot for "the most Mario-obsessed," the short, mustached man was not Utah's favorite character.

That title belongs to Toad.
