BLUFFDALE — A 19-year-old man has died and two others seriously injured in a crash thar prompted hours of traffic delays on Redwood Road near Camp Williams on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a crash near 17000 S. Redwood Road at around 3:17 p.m., where a driver of a Hyundai Santa Cruz traveling south somehow crossed into the northbound lanes and was hit head on by a Toyota Rav4, said Saratoga Springs Police Sgt. Jesse Davis.

Davis said officers arrived to find the Santa Cruz on fire.

The driver of the Santa Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The passenger in that vehicle and the Rav4 driver were both transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The crash caused major delays for people traveling in and out Utah County, as officials closed Redwood Road for time in both directions for people heading in and out of Utah County, between Camp Williams Road and Jordan Narrows Road.

No names have been released. Davis said the crash is under investigation.
