SANDY — A Farmington man is facing criminal charges for an alleged incident of road rage.
Steven Charles Holladay, 49, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with reckless endangerment, a third-degree felony, and reckless driving, a class A misdemeanor. Both charges come with road rage penalty enhancements if convicted.
On April 25, a woman was driving on I-15 near 9000 South when a pickup truck "began driving recklessly, attempting to run her off the road. This continued for multiple miles," according to charging documents.
The woman later provided dashboard camera video to the Utah Highway Patrol that showed her driving up on Holladay's pickup truck at normal freeway speeds, the charges state.
"The pickup began to honk at (her) as she drove past. The pickup then speeds up and intentionally swerves toward (the woman) multiple times in an attempt to strike (her) vehicle with his own and run her off the roadway into the concrete barrier," according to the charges.
"The pickup driver makes gestures that he is going to slit (the woman's) throat. At two points, the pickup driver gets in front of (her) and attempts to come to a complete stop in front of her," the charges allege.
The woman says she tried multiple times to get away from Holladay, but he continued to engage with her.
Using the video, troopers were able to identify Holladay as the driver of the pickup.
