SALT LAKE CITY — Can you play an instrument? How about playing half of one while someone else plays the other half, and you also play half of theirs?

Did you get all of that?

OK, now try it and also make it sound good.

A pianist plays the violin while the violinist plays the piano, but the pianist also plays the piano while the violinist plays the violin.

Being a musician requires some creativity, of course. So it's no surprise that someone would come up with something creative and a bit mind-boggling like this.

Some form of musical trickery has been tried before. One man played one song on two instruments. There's a woman who played three trumpets at the same time.

And they all made it sound good.
