PROVO — A man was hospitalized after being hit by a truck while cycling in Provo Canyon on Friday morning, according to state troopers.

The cyclist was traveling on east U.S. 189 when he was struck by a "truck and trailer towing pallets of sod," said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Andy Battenfield. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

The right lane of the highway was briefly closed, but traffic had resumed normally as of 10:50 a.m.
