SARATOGA SPRINGS — No one was hurt after a house caught fire Wednesday morning in Saratoga Springs, but the family living there was displaced.
The fire started about 11 a.m. at a house near Preening Way. Saratoga Springs Deputy Fire Chief Kenny Johnson said four people inside heard smoke detectors, evacuated the home and called 911.
Johnson said there was "extensive damage" on the first and second floors, and the house is uninhabitable for now. The American Red Cross was on scene helping the family of five adults and three children as they try to find a temporary place to stay.

"I can't help but think about how bad it could have been," Stephanie Willis, who lives in the home, told KSL TV.
Willis said the fire was "super scary," but she was grateful all the "irreplaceable things" were out of the house like her family members and their pets.

Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation. The deputy fire chief said this is a good reminder for people to ensure they have working smoke detectors.
"The occupants were notified of the fire because of their working smoke alarms," Johnson said. "Checking your batteries is really important."
Crews from Saratoga Springs, Lehi, and Unified Fire responded to the blaze.
A *GoFundMe has been set up to help support the family while they recover from the fire.
