SALT LAKE CITY — Benson Boone is all the rage right now — and he's planning to conclude his much-anticipated "American Heart Tour" with two shows in Salt Lake City.
The pop star, fresh off his "Saturday Night Live" debut last week and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival appearances last month, announced tour dates for his upcoming album, "American Heart," on Monday. The North American tour was initially set to end at the Delta Center on Oct. 8. However, arena officials announced Wednesday that they've added a second show due to "overwhelming demand."
Tickets for the second show will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.
"With the upcoming release of 'American Heart,' performances at landmark festivals across the globe, and a highly anticipated arena tour on the horizon, Boone is on track for another record year in 2025," promoters added on Monday.
The interest isn't surprising, given Boone's ties to Utah. The singer's family lives in St. George, and southern Utah served as the backdrop to the music video for his smash hit "Beautiful Things." He was also raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended Brigham Young University-Idaho for a semester before dropping out to pursue music.
"Beautiful Things" was also the top streaming song on Spotify in Salt Lake City last year, while his debut album "Fireworks and Rollerblades" was the city's fourth most-streamed album in 2024, according to the streaming service's data.
"American Heart" is set to be released in June.
Boone's tour will also help mark the return of concerts at the Delta Center, which is currently under a three-year summer renovation plan to help it better host the Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth. Canadian pop star Tate McRae is scheduled to perform the night before Boone's two shows, as music returns to the arena.
