OGDEN — A 21-year-old woman was killed in a head-on collision early Saturday in Ogden, according to police, who said impairment is being investigated as a factor in the crash.

Police received reports of a crash near 30th Street and Harrison Boulevard just after midnight on Saturday. Ogden Police Lt. Will Farr said a Ford Focus was traveling north on Harrison Boulevard when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound Ford F-350 head on.

He said a 21-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Focus was taken with "significant injuries" to a local hospital, where she later died. The woman was identified as TyLar Londyn Palmer.

The driver of the Focus, another 21-year-old woman, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was also taken to the hospital, though her injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, Farr said.

Police are investigating impairment as a factor in the crash, according to Farr, and are asking anyone with information related to the crash to contact the department's traffic unit at 801-395-8221.

A GoFundMe* account was created to cover funeral expenses for Palmer and to support her young daughter.

"TyLar Londyn Palmer passed away early Saturday morning in a bad car accident at the age of 21, leaving behind her beautiful daughter and tons of family and friends who loved her so much and have been left in shock and heartbreak," the GoFundMe page states.

Police have not released the identity of the other woman who was injured.
