BOUNTIFUL — A semitruck rollover forced the closure of several northbound lanes on I-15 near Bountiful for multiple hours Thursday.

The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday near the 500 South on-ramp. Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden said the early belief was the semitruck was going too fast around a curve, causing it to roll and lose a load of metal it was hauling.

A load of metal spilled across the roadway when a semitruck rolled on northbound I-15 near Bountiful Thursday. The crash forced the closure of three lanes, resulting in major traffic delays in the area, but the Utah Highway Patrol said no one was injured.

Roden said the three right lanes of northbound I-15 would be closed "awhile" for cleanup; some traffic was getting through via the HOV lane, but the road was reopened by 4 p.m.

No other vehicles were involved and there were no injuries, Roden said.
