NEPHI — Traffic on I-15 was temporarily shut down Wednesday due to a police incident.

About 4:30 p.m., a Utah Highway Patrol trooper attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle, but the driver fled, crashing a few miles away south of the Nephi exit. Lt. Cameron Roden said the driver was being uncooperative and troopers were trying to get him to come out.

Just before 6 p.m., Roden said troopers got the suspect into custody. Traffic reopened shortly after.
