WEST JORDAN — A man was critically injured after his motorcycle was struck in a hit-and-run crash in West Jordan on Tuesday.

West Jordan police were dispatched to Gardner Lane and Redwood Road at about 8:30 p.m. where they found a man lying in the road. Witnesses said they saw a dark-colored SUV leave the scene, and a man was lying in the road next to his motorcycle, West Jordan detective Dirk Peterson said.

The man was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, he said. Police are searching for the vehicle that reportedly fled west on Gardner Lane.

Redwood Road from 8200 South to 8700 South was closed late Tuesday while police investigated the scene.
