WEST VALLEY CITY — A 24-year-old man was arrested over the weekend and accused of shooting two people outside a party in West Valley City.

Osue Valentin-Alarcon was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail early Sunday for investigation of two counts of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury, two counts of shooting a gun and causing injury and being a restricted person in possession of a weapon.

On Sunday, police were called to a report of a shooting at 3038 S. Timeron Drive. The first arriving officers "were immediately directed to the northwest corner of Timeron Drive and Snowbush Lane where they located the first victim. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the hand and abdomen," according to a police booking affidavit.

A second male also shot multiple times was found nearby. One of the victims identified Valentin-Alarcon as the shooter, the affidavit states.

"Officers located at the address of 3038 S. Timeron Drive a blood trail with spent and unspent bullet casings on the front driveway of the address and leading to the front door," according to the affidavit.

Two vehicles parked north of the address were also found to have large amounts of blood near them, police said.

Two witnesses told investigators that they saw the victims and Valentin-Alarcon arguing prior to the shooting.

"(Valentin-Alarcon) denied anything occurred and stated several times that he did not recall anything," the affidavit says. He was arrested after questioning, however, and booked into jail.

Police say one shooting victim suffered life-threatening injuries. Updates on the conditions of the two victims were not immediately available on Monday.
