EUREKA, Juab County — One person was killed in a head-on collision in Juab County on Thursday.

About 7 a.m., a 2006 Porsche Cayenne was heading west on state Route 6 about 15 miles south of Eureka when it lost control on the snow-covered roads. The Porsche traveled into the opposite lanes, where it struck a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

At the time of the crash, both drivers were thought to have moderate injuries, the Utah Highway Patrol said. Troopers were contacted later, however, and informed the Equinox driver had died as a result of the crash. The driver's identity has not been released.

Utah Highway Patrol said the Porsche driver told them he lost control, causing him to cross into the other lane. Troopers are investigating traveling too fast for conditions and failing to stay in the lane as possible contributors to the crash.
