ST. GEORGE — Paying for parking digitally continues in Springdale, with the town council extending the QR code pilot parking program for 2025.
Utah Tech University is partnering with Springdale, the gateway to Zion National Park, to improve visitor parking through its QR code payment system. This program allows visitors to pay for parking without using physical kiosks.
Jason Pitts, who manages the system at Utah Tech University, emailed St. George News to say the collaboration began in the 2024 Zion National Park season and served 5,000 vehicles.
"The initial pilot showed that the system was most popular during the busiest times, indicating that visitors preferred avoiding lines at physical kiosks," Pitts said.
