The Detroit Lions have never had a first-round bye until they earned one by beating Minnesota 31-9 last week. That gave the Lions the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs and sent the Vikings on the road as league's first 14-win wild-card team. The Lions will host a divisional round game Jan. 18 or 19 and a win would send them back to the NFC championship game. They lost last year's NFC title game in San Francisco after taking a 17-point lead. The Lions are trying to reach their first Super Bowl and win their first NFL title since 1957.
