WHITE CITY — A man who police say is homeless was arrested Wednesday and accused of peeking in the windows of a White City home for a month.

Alfredo Hernandez, 34, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of five counts of voyeurism and interfering with police.

Unified police were called to a home in White City early Wednesday after surveillance cameras at the home recorded a man looking in the windows, according to a police booking affidavit.

"This has been a reoccurring problem at this address since Dec. 4 when the victim and her husband first noticed a male peeking into their bedroom window in the early morning hours," the affidavit states.

Officers arrived at the residence and surrounded the house. Hernandez was not immediately spotted, but police found a cellphone in the grass.

"As I turned to my left I observed Alfredo lying flat on his back on the ground beside the shed," an officer wrote in the affidavit.

After being taken into custody, police confirmed that Hernandez was the same man seen on surveillance video looking into the home on Dec. 4, Dec. 11, Dec. 12, Dec. 13 and Wednesday, according to the affidavit. The video also showed an illuminated cellphone propped up and pointing into a window where the homeowner said she routinely changed her clothes or showered.

Police say Hernandez has been arrested in California for committing similar crimes.
