ELKO, Nevada — Officials identified a person killed in a vehicle crash in Nevada on New Year's Eve as a man from West Valley City.
Around 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 31, a Dodge Stratus was traveling north on state Route 233 when the driver veered to the right side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected to the left, crossing the center line and driving off the left side of the road where it overturned, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
The driver, identified as Neko Wright, 22, of West Valley City, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle, officials said. He died at the scene of the crash, the cause of which remains under investigation.
