BLUFFDALE — A Herriman man suspected of killing a woman was arrested Tuesday after her body was found in a car parked at a 7-Eleven store.

Jacob Johnson, 40, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of murder.

Just after midnight Tuesday morning, Herriman police received a call to assist Saratoga Springs police "regarding a DUI investigation where a deceased female was located inside the vehicle," according to a police booking affidavit.

Bluffdale police also responded and found the vehicle at a 7-Eleven, 15871 S. Redwood Road. A woman with "significant injuries and trauma that would be consistent with a homicide" was found in the back seat, the affidavit states.

The driver, Johnson, was taken to the Saratoga Springs Police Department for questioning. He confirmed that he and the victim lived together in Herriman.

"Johnson stated he was in a previous argument with the victim, stating that it was over with their relationship," the affidavit states. "When asked by officers if the victim had any injuries, Johnson stated physical trauma but did not elaborate any further. When asked how the victim got into the vehicle, Johnson said he put her into the vehicle."

The name of the woman has not yet been released.
