LEWISTON, Cache County — Police have identified the woman who died in a crash near the Utah-Idaho border last week.
Heather Marshall, 39, of Lewiston, died on Dec. 15 on U.S. 91 when a GMC Terrain hydroplaned and crashed into the Mazda 3 she was driving.
All three occupants of the GMC were taken to the hospital with "significant injuries." The driver and front passenger of the GMC were transported via ambulance, while the rear passenger was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter.
"Heather enjoyed traveling, woodworking, tap dancing, home renovation, skiing, and cake decorating with her mom. She passed on her love of sports to her children (but not her husband) and enjoyed driving them to practice and cheering for them at their games," her obituary states.
She leaves behind her husband, two children, a large extended family, her dog Princess Leia and cats Han and Chewy.
"As a Cache Valley resident, she grew in her skills at gardening, composting, and living more connected to the land," the obituary says. "As a family, they had a deep love of the outdoors. Camping, road trips to national parks, and hiking to waterfalls were favorite vacations and sweet family time."
