EAGLE MOUNTAIN — A driver is dead following a rollover crash in Eagle Mountain Saturday night.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 11:20 p.m. on Eagle Mountain Boulevard near its intersection with state Route 73, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

"The driver was pronounced dead on scene, and the passenger was transported to the hospital via helicopter in critical condition," a statement from the sheriff's office says.

Details about what caused the crash were not immediately available. As of Sunday morning, the sheriff's office had not released the name of the person who died.

Eagle Mountain Boulevard was closed for several hours while deputies investigated the crash.
