SIGURD, Sevier County — Troopers have identified a Utah man killed in a crash on Dec. 11 near the intersection of state Route 24 and state Route 259 in Sevier County.
A Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west on S.R. 24 and was preparing to turn onto S.R. 259 northbound about 9 p.m. when the accident occurred.
"The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder began to execute the turn onto (S.R. 259) and failed to notice a gold Nissan Sentra eastbound through the intersection. The left front of both vehicles collided," the Utah Highway Patrol said.
The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was uninjured while the driver of the Nissan Sentra sustained fatal injuries, troopers say. The Utah Highway Patrol later identified the deceased man as Brandon Griffiths, 50, of Venice, Sevier County.
