MURRAY — Murray police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that helps them solve a 9-year-old cold case homicide.

On Sept. 5, 2015, a passing bicyclist heard 38-year-old Fred Curtis Mustain Jr. crying for help at a home under construction at 527 E. Vine Street about 9:20 p.m.

Mustain, who was shot multiple times in the back, according to police, died a few hours later from his injuries at a local hospital. No arrests have been made.

Murray police on Wednesday said they have followed up on multiple leads and "have been able to narrow their search and identify possible suspects." But police are hoping someone will step forward and provide information that will "help substantiate the evidence in this case" and lead to the arrest and prosecution of the person or people responsible.

Anyone with information can call police at 801-264-2658.
