CLINTON — Two men, both with gunshot wounds, are dead following a report early Thursday morning of shots fired in a Clinton home, police say.

Clinton police and officials from other area law enforcement agencies responded to a report at around 1 a.m. Thursday of shots fired at a home in the area of 2600 West and 2250 North.

Officers found two adult males with gunshot wounds, one of them was declared dead inside the home. "The second was flown by medical helicopter and was pronounced deceased after arrival at the hospital," Clinton police said in a statement.

Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public and the matter remains under investigation. Clinton police ask anyone with information to reach out to the department.
