LOS ANGELES — Top-ranked South Carolina is feeling something it hasn't known in over 2 1/2 years. The sting of defeat. The Gamecocks were stunned 77-62 by No. 5 UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. The loss ended their overall 43-game winning streak and their run of 33 straight road victories. South Carolina coach Dawn Staley says the Bruins perfectly executed a game plan usually run by the Gamecocks. UCLA held South Carolina to 36% shooting and limited the Gamecocks to eight trips to the free throw line. While UCLA players celebrated with their fans at the buzzer, South Carolina headed to its lockerroom to contemplate the end of its undefeated reign.
