WEST VALLEY CITY — A man with a history of domestic violence has been arrested again, this time for allegedly threatening to "start a war" with the West Valley City Police Department.
Kevin Jacob Angle, 38, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Tuesday for investigation of making a terroristic threat, making a threat of violence, violating a protective order and fleeing from police.
On Monday, West Valley police administration received a voicemail from Angle in which he expressed his frustration with his previous charges, according to a police booking affidavit.
"(He) stated that he would start a war against West Valley City. (Angle) stated that it would be a massacre and that he would terrorize West Valley City. The suspect also stated that if the West Valley City Police Department did not do anything about getting his girlfriend under control, he would be forced to take care of it," the affidavit alleges.
Police say the woman Angle was referring to has an active protective order against him.
According to court records, he was charged in 3rd District Court on Nov. 6 with violating that protective order. He was also charged on Sept. 11 with making a threat of violence for telling the woman "that he was going to kill her and beat her up," according to charging documents.
Angle was also charged with assault in a third case of domestic violence in July, according to court records. His lengthy criminal history in Utah dates back to 2005.
When police went to arrest Angle on Tuesday, he ran from them, the affidavit states, but was quickly tracked down and taken into custody.
