If you are on the fence about getting an electric vehicle, Ford is out to put your anxieties to rest with their new Power Promise program. From now to Jan. 2, Ford is offering a free home charger and complimentary professional installation to anyone who purchases or leases a new Ford electric vehicle. Ford is including 24/7 support and roadside assistance as well.

This promotion is part of Ford's Power Promise initiative and is aimed to ease the transition for would-be buyers into EV ownership.

Here are a few more details about Ford's new Power Promise.

Complimentary home charger, installation for your Ford EV

Making the switch to an electric vehicle can be daunting, particularly regarding home charging. According to Mercury Analytics, charging at home is a key factor for potential EV shoppers. They said, "89% of electric vehicle shoppers are more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they had access to home charging."

Additionally, they found that "46% of shoppers don't know how home charging works in contrast to 92% of owners who find charging at home as easy as charging their phones."

And given that, "88% of electric vehicle owners … prefer to fill up at home while 79% rarely charge publicly," Ford saw an opportunity to assuage people's worries — and cater to their preferences — by offering this complimentary home charging set up. And don't worry about trying to find an electrician for the installation, Ford will arrange the whole process from start to finish.

If you live in an apartment or other residence where home installation isn't possible, Ford also offers a $2,000 credit toward alternative charging options.

By removing these barriers to entry, Ford hopes to make EV adoption more accessible to a wider audience — no matter where you live — and ultimately provide a smoother transition into EV ownership.

Ongoing support, roadside assistance, on-the-go charging and a lengthy warranty

In addition to offering a complimentary home charger and installation, Ford's Power Promise includes 24/7 customer support — with an actual Ford service advisor — to ensure that drivers have peace of mind in unexpected situations, such as running out of charge, experiencing technical issues with their EV or even a charging station that's giving them grief.

This should be especially comforting for customers out for longer drives or trips, because Ford is willing to, "...pick up customers and bring them to the closest charging station or dealership in the case of adverse vehicle events, now including running out of charge, no matter where they are."

Ford also offers mobile service for your electric vehicle, meaning many service and maintenance items can be taken care of from your home without going to the dealership. You will also have access to the BlueOval Charge Network, which includes access to more than 15,000 Tesla fast chargers.

With the Ford Power Promise, there's really no reason to not purchase that Ford EV you've had your eye on. Oh, and the battery? Ford has that covered for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

How to take advantage of Ford's Power Promise

Adopting the EV lifestyle can be intimidating, both financially and logistically. By offering a free home charger, installation, ongoing support and a robust on-the-road charging network, Ford wants to make it easier for customers to embrace EVs without anxiety.

To take advantage of the Ford Power Promise, customers need to purchase or lease a new F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E or E-Transit cargo van between now, and Jan. 2. After the purchase, Ford will arrange for the home charger installation. Those who can't — or don't want to have — a charger installed at home can receive a $2,000 credit toward public charging stations.

With these promises, Ford is helping remove some of the biggest hurdles potential buyers have about EV ownership. Learn more about the Ford Power Promise today by clicking here.
