HEBER CITY — A man has been arrested in Wasatch County in what police are calling yet another case of road rage in Utah.

Scott R. Farnsworth, 47, was booked into the Wasatch County Jail on Thursday for investigation of reckless driving and littering, both with road rage penalty enhancements, and five infractions for vehicle violations, including having illegal window tint and tire width.

About 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 10, the Utah Highway Patrol was notified of a possible rage incident on U.S. 40. The victim went to a UHP office to fill out a witness statement and show troopers videos of the incident.

The videos showed "the suspect vehicle driving recklessly by following too closely, passing on the right, forcing the reporting party off the roadway to the left and cutting between two vehicles while driving down the center of the road," a police booking affidavit states. "Once the suspect vehicle passed the reporting party, the suspect vehicle dangerously began to brake check the reporting party and threw multiple items out of the driver side window."

During a follow-up investigation, a trooper spotted the vehicle at an undisclosed job site several days later. When troopers attempted to question Farnsworth about the incident, he said he would "plead the 5th," according to the affidavit.

He was then placed under arrest for investigation of that incident, as well as having an outstanding warrant.

Farnsworth's lengthy criminal history includes a large number of traffic violations dating back to 1993, including several charges for driving on a revoked or suspended license, according to court records.
