LAYTON — Police are looking for a white cargo van after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Layton on Wednesday night.
Layton police said about 8:13 p.m., officers received a report of a fatal hit-and-run at the intersection of 1120 North and Main Street. A 41-year-old man was killed; no other identifying details about him have yet been released.
Police said the driver who hit the man left the scene and has not been found.
The intersection was closed while emergency officials responded to the scene and investigated the crash.
Layton police on Thursday said the department is searching for a white cargo van that hit the man as he tried to cross the street.
"The construction van is described as older, and has a distinct single window on the passenger side sliding door," police said in a Facebook post. "The suspect van sustained substantial front end damage to the hood, grill, and passenger side headlight."
