SALT LAKE CITY — The recruiting process is in full swing for the top-ranked recruit in the state for the Class of 2026.

Five-star tight end Brock Harris, who plays at Pine View High in St. George, is the No. 1 recruit in Utah, the No. 2 tight end in the country, and the No. 26 overall recruit in the Class of 2026, according to 247Sports.

As expected, both BYU and Utah have had a large presence in his recruitment for quite some time now.

BYU is a program that Harris has spent most of his of time, as he attended camps there since he was in seventh grade. He's as familiar with the campus as any recruit could be.

"BYU has always shown so much love to me since I was a young buck going to their camps in seventh grade," Harris said. "Love the staff, they are all great."

Utah, on the other hand, stands out to Harris most with its development of its tight ends. He sees the resume that Utah has as a program with tight ends, as well as how long the coaching staff has been together as an attractive option.

"Utah is a great tight end school and everyone knows that," Harris said. "Both coach Kyle and Freddie Whittingham and I have a great relationship."

Harris plans to be in attendance when Utah hosts BYU on Nov. 9.

But several other schools outside the state have been in contact with the five-star tight end, including Oregon, where he already attended the Ducks' Saturday night came in July. Between the energy and intensity at the camp, and his relationship with the coaching staff, Oregon looks to be a team to watch in his recruitment.

"Coach (Drew) Mehringer and I are really tight," Harris said. "They are doing some good things with their tight ends, and they are building up a very successful program."

Another school to watch is Michigan, where Harris visited in early June. He had the opportunity to workout in front of the coaching staff, and also got to sit in on a practice in Ann Arbor.

"Coach (Steve) Casula is such a good coach, as well," Harris said. "I really like the facilities and the energy that I saw and felt when I was there."

Georgia and Ohio State are also high on Harris' radar. At Georgia, he's gotten to form relationships with tight ends coach Todd Hartley and head coach Kirby Smart.

"Georgia is another school that has been a tight end powerhouse over the last few years, especially," Harris said. "Coach Hartley and coach Smart are great, as well."

And at Ohio State, Harris has connected most with tight ends coach Keenan Bailey. With his passion and intensity of the game, as well as his development of tight ends, Harris has appreciated his bond with Bailey

"Coach Bailey is so awesome," Harris said. "He's so passionate and knows his stuff about tight ends, with both blocking and especially route running."
