HIDEOUT, Wasatch County — Police are on the lookout for a Jeep Gladiator or a Jeep Rubicon following the discovery of a body at the north entrance of Jordanelle State Park Thursday. The cause of death of a 61-year-old man has turned into a criminal investigation.

The Wasatch County Sheriff's Office says the unidentified Jeep may have front-end damage.

The Utah Division of State Parks and the sheriff's office responded to a call of a possible suicide near the Ross Creek Day Use Area about 11 a.m. on Thursday. However, investigators determined the man's death was criminal but have not said what the man's cause of death was.

Deputies arrived to the scene to find a deceased man outside a car that was on the shoulder of the roadway, the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. The vehicle sat for hours with a door hanging open and the blinker on before it was reported.

The sheriff's office told KSL-TV that only the victim's car was found at the north entrance, which was not staffed during the fall.

The office believes the man's death is related to a road rage incident that happened in the park area at 11 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators obtained security footage showing the deceased man's car being followed by another vehicle and stopping at the park's entrance before the man's death.

Police are contacting the man's next of kin before releasing his identity. The sheriff's office does not believe this death is related to another suspicious death in Tooele County.

Police are asking those involved to come forward. "The sooner you turn yourselves in to deal with the situation, the better," the sheriff's office said.
