OGDEN — A 45-year-old Ogden man died Saturday after succumbing to a gunshot wound, Ogden police said.

At around 3:58 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound at the 2800 block of Childs Avenue in Ogden, police said in a Facebook post. Upon arrival, officers found the man in critical condition and he was taken to a local hospital. He has since died from his injuries.

The Weber County Homicide Task Force has begun an investigation. It is believed to be an isolated incident due to preliminary findings and there is no continuing threat to the public.

The police have asked anyone with information to contact Weber Dispatch at 801-395-8221.
