LAUSANNE, Switzerland — American gymnast Jordan Chiles is taking the fight to have her Olympic bronze medal on floor exercise to the highest court in Switzerland. Chiles filed an appeal with the Swiss Supreme Court asking it to throw out a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport that stripped Chiles of bronze and awarded it to Romanian Ana Barbosu. CAS ruled that U.S. coach Cecile Landi waited too long to file an appeal of Chiles' initial score that boosted Chiles from fifth to third. Chiles says CAS violated her "right to be heard" by not accepting video evidence that Chiles claims shows Landi made the appeal in time.
