PROVIDENCE, Cache County — A 36-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle after falling off his motorcycle, according to the Logan City Police Department.

Logan Police Lt. Brooks Davis said officers responded to a traffic accident Monday just before 10 p.m. at 1115 S. Main Street in Providence. While traveling south, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and fell into a southbound lane of travel, where he was struck by a vehicle also traveling south, police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency responders administered aid to the man, but he died at the scene. The man, later identified as Nico Oliva, of Hyrum, had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The vehicle's driver stayed at the scene. Davis said the investigation was ongoing.
