SANDY — A boy was critically injured Friday evening after microburst winds caused a bounce house to overturn in Sandy, firefighters said.

The accident happened during a summer camp at Dimple Dell Recreation Center. Salt Lake County officials say workers were getting kids out of the bounce house when the wind carried the bounce house with a child inside.

A 10-year-old boy was critically injured, and a 6-year-old boy was also hospitalized with a leg injury.

A few other children also suffered minor injuries, officials said, but they were not hospitalized.

Parks and recreation officials and firefighters say the bounce house had been secured to the ground when it was overturned.
