SOUTH OGDEN — Six people were taken to hospitals after an ambulance and another vehicle collided in South Ogden on Monday evening, police said.
At 6:34 p.m., South Ogden police and firefighters responded to the report of a collision involving two vehicles, one of which was an ambulance from another county, the South Ogden Police Department said in a statement.
The crash happened at the intersection of 5600 S. Harrison Blvd. Four Layton fire employees and a 90-year-old patient were riding in the ambulance, according to a press release sent out Tuesday by Layton officials.
An SUV struck the ambulance, causing it to roll, the press release says, and the Layton responders were seriously injured, but none of the injuries was life-threatening. The 90-year-old patient, who was experiencing a pulmonary issue, was transferred to another ambulance to receive care.
The SUV carried six passengers, but only the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the release.
South Ogden police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
